About Us

Aquiworx is a collaboration between the Centre for Water Sciences and Management at the North-West University in South Africa, Private Consultants and the South African Government. The software is free and is maintained by the Centre for Water Sciences and Management.

Who We Are

Aquiworx evolved from two systems that were merged through a project imitated by the South African Department of Water Affairs and Forestry (now known as the Department of Water and Sanitation). Aquiworx comprise of the following systems: 

  • AMS (Aquifer Management System) - developed by Rainier Dennis
  • Aquimon (part of the Norad Toolkit) - developed by Alan Woodford
Since the first release of Aquiworx, it has been used as basis to for other projects through which the software functionality evolved to what it is today. Aquiworx is maintained by the Centre for Water Sciences and Management at the North-West University in South Africa.

Centre for Water Sciences and Management

The Centre for Water Sciences and Management was established at the North-West University in 2011. The centre focuses both on surface- and groundwater related research and offers post graduate courses in Hydrology and Hydrogeology.
